There are many bars and restaurants in and around Costa Caleta, as you might expect in what is basically a holiday resort. I don't mind cooking, but don't really have the inclination to do the shopping and washing up that goes with it, so more often than not I eat out.
As I live in Costa Antigua I tend to eat most often in the places that are there. It is not as far to walk as Caleta and the range of food on offer is adequate for my tastes.
Working down the hill the places I eat or have a drink in (coffe as much as beer) regularly include Kavanagh's a bar. This is the bar on the Caleta Paraiso complex and is a good place to bump into the people that have a holiday home on the complex, or elsewhere in the area. Monday night is curry night and it is a bargain at €6 as the price includes a beer. Across the road is La Volvereta, a bakery come cafe that also offers good value, and I usually call in at least once a day for a cake, a coffee and a read of the Spanish papers.
Katy Daley's is next door, and is a small Irish bar run by real Irish people.
On the Antigua Bay complex there is Villa Pizza, so called because the owner is a Villa fan. It is good to go there to watch the Villa games, especially if you like to watch people suffer. Jinxing is a Chinese restaurant named after the owner. Nice to have a range of cuisines to choose from. The last bar on the block is Mustang Sally's, which has the benefit of being no smoking inside.
If I go to Caleta for a change then there is a wide range of restaurants to choose from. These include the famous Fado Rock. It fascinates me the way that people will queue to eat in a restaurant when either side there are restaurants that are, in my opinion, at least as good. The Greek does an excellent lamb and El Patio is a typical Canarian restaurant.
Across the road from these is the Centro Castillo, where you can find the equally famous Tommy Nutters. Good food and lots of it with a free bottle of wine thrown in. John and Wendy, who have Tommy Nutters, were two of the first people when I came to Fuerteventura. They will be on the TV in the UK soon. Some program about looking to return to the UK. I hope they stay here.
Another real Irish bar in the same center is Durty Nelly's. Mike and Linda have this. Strangley enough they are nice people too. Maybe it is a condition of renting there. Thinking about it, the owners of Las Torres Italian Restaurant are also very pleasant. I wonder if it is catching?
For authentic Indian food you can't beat the Indian next to Legends. Legends does good business when there is football on as they are able to offer several games at once, though Man U get pride of place, as Kenny supports them.
There are of course many other restaurants, and I am sure they all have their plus points, I just don't get into them very often.
